If you are struggling with PTSD or other emotional trauma or issues, you are in need of professional help. Many times, seeking that help can be troublesome for many reasons, mostly trust. If you are a police officer in Utah, the Utah FOP Foundation will pay for your first four visits to a participating provider as long as the Foundation has the funds to do so. In order to be a provider, they must be a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a history of working with cops. This is not an EAP through your work but they will take most insurance plans.
** Even though the FOP will cover your first 4 visits, an expectation of being "issue free" after just 4 visits is unrealistic. We offer this service to assist our members in getting through the door and beginning the journey to a better life and better career. Providers on our plan accept multiple insurances. Check with the provider for coverage options after your 4 visits on us. Currently, this program provides only a one time option for services. A member may not visit multiple providers under this plan.
REDWOOD THERAPY GROUP is based in West Jordan. Contact them at www.redwoodtherapy.com or call them @ (801) 878-4220 and tell them you are an FOP member. They will ask for your name or member number in order to secure a pre-authorization number.
Redwood Therapy has experience helping cops, utilizing EMDR. They are quality professionals and are dedicated to this joint venture with the FOP.

My name is Glen Porter and I am a master’s level mental health therapist (CMHC). I retired from law enforcement after 26 years, which includes working for the Dallas Police Department and the Utah Highway Patrol. I also have 20 years experience in the military in the National Guard and Reserves. My experience helps provide understanding and perspective for the stressors that are unique to first responders.
Sometimes it becomes necessary to learn new skills and process difficult events when they negatively affect our work and personal lives. If you find your personal life isn’t heading in the direction you had anticipated or desired, I can help you navigate through these challenges. I provide a safe and confidential setting and personally relate to first responders

The Partridge Group's primary focus is providing wellness, resilience, and mental health resources for Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders. Because of this focus, all of our providers have either law enforcement experience or have met with and been approved by one (or more) of our LEO consultants, to ensure the right fit for our clients. In addition, we require our therapists to do ride- alongs, experience some LEO training firsthand, and/or have continued exposure to officers in real-world, practical settings. This emphasis on LEOs and LEO culture ensures all of our providers not only understand the unique challenges facing our clients but also help develop and provide best practices for healing, rebuilding, and strengthening resilience. Our goal is not just to help you survive this career, but to thrive both professionally and personally.
